The Bourbon`s Madrid is extend around the Paseo del Prado. In the seventeenth century, the aristocracy had chosen this area of the city to build their outskirts residences. The Buen Retiro Palace, built in the reign of Philip IV, was the first step in converting the east of Madrid in the most elegant facade of the capital, but until the arrival of the new dynasty, in the eighteenth century, the Prado, do not reach the monumentality that characterizes it today.
